ದಯವೇ ಧರ್ಮದ ಮೂಲವಯ್ಯ – dayave dharmada muulavayya – Compassion is the root of Dharma
ಆಸಯೇ ದುಖದ ಮೂಲ – aasaye dhukkhada muula -  Attachment is the root cause of misery
